Spun Cotton Ornaments

These sweet little ornaments are handmade in a similar way to papier mache - an armature is made, then covered with thin sheets of cotton and glue. Just as papier mache, they are
endearingly lumpy! Each ornament has a copper loop strung with linen string and a gently shiny surface. The mushrooms and birds all have varying degrees of gold and bronze metallic accents. They incorporate collaged elements, including scraps of silk and other fabrics and are entirely handmade in my Vermont studio. Sizes range from 5cm to 10cm.
